I l o v e the weekends.
It makes all the chaos of the week worth it. Some of our good friends were in town for an event so we got together with them and took the kids mini-golfing. Ian really liked it and was great at waiting for us at each hole. Luke insisted on hitting his ball like a pushbroom and had a good time as well.

Saturday morning we made a special trip to the Krispy Creme Donut Factory instead of our regular donut shop. The boys were very intrigued by the machines and the mass production of donuts. Then we headed over to a festival in Boise and played and had a picnic.
The kids all take their nice afternoon nap and we have time to get laundry done, the lawn mowed, dishes, and bills. Most of all we have a relaxed time to enjoy them. And have them enjoy time with us....Other than the small amount of time we have in the evenings, we don't get to take a whole lot of time for that throughout the week. I especially feel that with Libby. Her most interactive time of the day is in the mornings and she starts right when I put her in her carseat to go to daycare. It kills me to see her all happy and not get to stay and talk with her, as she coos back. This morning in church, she just kept smiling at Jer and I. It was nice to have time with her without the boys around poking her and getting in her face. That is probably one of the hardest thing as a parent of 3 (or more I would presume). You aren't able to get individual time with them very much. They need you individually, and in different ways. Yet it is very tricky to have opportunities with just one at a time.

In other news, school is going good. I love my class, although I lost another one to a charter school this week. Don't get me started.... but they are a good group and the behaviors that I do have seem to be minimized among all the modeled good behavior. Now, if we could just have 2 more hours tagged onto every day for us to get everything done that we are expected to do!Another family update is that last week we said goodbye to our dog. After trying everything that we knew to do Jer decided that it wasn't fair for him or our family to continue with the current step-up. Jer posted him on Craig's List for awhile and did get one call, but she didn't follow through, so she must have changed her mind. He also tried to talk a couple co-workers into taking him. But no one was interested so we took him to the animal shelter. He's a fun, good looking dog, so I hope that he won't have any trouble getting a new family. The boys didn't seem phased at all by it. In fact, Ian said the week before, "Mom, I think we need a different dog. This one doesn't seem to be doing too well at this house." Despite the expensive training, you need TIME to maintain the training, time to give to them, and time to correct the undesired behavior. The little time we do have must go to our family first. And this dog needed a lot of time. We heard our loud yelling voices every night- trying to correct him from jumping up and eating our food, getting into the trash, digging holes, the list goes on. It was much like Marley from Marley and Me if you have seen it. Anyway, any animal lovers out there- don't judge us until you are one of 2 working parents and have 3 young kids. It's a LOT to juggle! ;)

Oh, what else? As the C-section healed, I've gone back to working out. It's much easier to do the Eliptical than actual running, but we did sign up for a race at the end of October. It's only a 10k but that still might be too much for me. It's not the length of the race- but as long as I'm nursing, it's fairly painful to run. So we'll see. Well I better not use any more of precious naptime to be on the computer. Plus Fantasy Football man is itching for it.....

Joy, these photos are great! I can't believe how big Libby is already. Thanks for sending the pics--I've already shown them off to everyone I know. Looking forward to seeing you in October, Lord willing.

Haha! Chad has been gone all weekend, and I know the first thing he is going to want to do is check fantasy football! Missed you this Thursday.
