GIRL!
Yes, I was walking on clouds, until the doc preceeded to tell us that the ultrasound showed brighter coloration on her bladder. It could mean that she has a viral infection and with 3 kids being sent home in the last month with Fifths disease, (which can result in fetal death if I contract it and the baby gets it) it could be linked with that. It could be some other viral infection or it could be an indication of a chromosome disorder. Or- it could be nothing- and she just scanned like that today. Even if we found out what it was- we wouldn't be able to do anything. So after she suggested specialists, more scans and tests, we opted to just test my blood for the antibodies to see I have them and then scan again in 4 weeks. I think the viral infection scares me the worst, because she could be sick and there's nothing we could do. So on that heavy note- we're just praying that everything will be okay and that she will be a healthy beautiful baby.
Anyway yesterday was Ian's 4th birthday. I've had a yucky cold this weekend- so I haven't felt well, but I got through the busy week despite it.
It was a WALL-E party and all the kids painted pots and then planted seeds in them. (If you've seen the movie, Eve's whole directive is to bring this baby plant back to the space ship) The kids did great, and like predicted their attention span was short and after about 10 minutes they were ready to go play.

Joy, praying hard for you, the baby, and the rest of the family!
On the cake note... My mom always made my cake and they were great just like yours. Details and very colorful. It's one of my favorite memories after all these years.
Joy,
I thought of you when they first let us know that there was an outbreak of fifths. I will be praying for your family, and particularly for the protection of your sweet baby girl.
Congratulations on the girl! We are praying for her health, as well as yours!
By the way, your cake was AMAZING. Please teach me when I have kids of my own. I can't believe how amazing it looks.
Joy you are the most creative person I KNOW! And you did Wall-E proud with that cake!! I've decided I'm going to make Noah a Thomas the Train cake for his 2nd birthday--HE LOVES HIM. So you will have to give me some tips (I saw the one you made--so cute). Anyway, also, great goin' with the dads in the pictures helping plant seeds. I'm impressed.
We are praying for your precious little girl. I am impressed with you and the way you look at life and difficult situations--they are all in the Lord's hands. :)
A girl! Focus on that....in my small experience, the doctors screen for stuff and worry the crap out of you, and in the end, it is nothing - except for a healthy baby.
You look so cute too....if you weren't so nice, I might hate you for it. My ankles are currently the size of Brian's neck.
You look great Joy- and that cake- seriously- you need to go into business. A baby girl! Yay! We are praying too for her to be healthy!
Brek's birthday is in three weeks...can you do a Strawberry Shortcake cake?
You look adorable! Congrats on a GIRL! Praying for you as well!
Joy!! Yay!! Congrats!!
CONGRATULATIONS on your girl!!! I am praying for you:)
That cake is incredible! We celebrated Dylan's 7th birthday yesterday and I made a Patrick star cake from Spongebob - but after checking out your cake, I'm afraid to post any pictures of mine:) I lovingly refer to him as "Patrick Scary Star Cake".
Really...it was bad.
Hang in there Joy:)
YAY for girls Joy! So excited for you.:) Your cake looks awesome too. How do you get your frosting looking so vibrant?
And I will pray that your antibody levels come back normal! Hopefully it is just a fluke.
Hey Joy! Congrats on the baby girl!! I'm so excited for you. Know that I am praying for you, Jer, the boys and the baby that it is healthy. Lets get together. I would love to see you.
Yeah, I'm so excited you get your girl! She, and you (and your whole fam) will be in my prayers. Sometime to remember too, is that ultrasounds get better and better, and they pick up on more and more stuff that isn't a big deal. At Troy's ultrasound, they picked up on some cysts in his brain. Now I totally was freaking, but my Aunt said that 2 of my cousins had them too, and they usually went away...and they did. I'll be praying for sure for this little girl though. Oh, and seriously, I can only HOPe I can be that creative with my kids someday.
