But the next day was much better as Libby was sleeping when we got home and the boys were better. The dog- he is still the same. Even Jer keeps threatening to get rid of him.
The start-up has been good. Making dinner is tricky when everyone wants and needs my attention ASAP when we get home, but as long as I plan ahead- we get it worked out. Even Jer had to watch them all and make dinner one night when I had "Meet the Teacher" night. I walked in the house, so nervous that Libby had been screaming and that he would be really stressed out. I was speechless when I was met by the boys sitting in their seats, almost finished with dinner and Libby was asleep on the couch. I expected a paid babysitter to pop out somewhere. He is superdad! BTW, to come home to hot dinner on the table after a long day at work is indescribable. I wish I could experience that more often! Unfortunately Jer doesn't get home until 6:30 so it's Chef Mom for now...
School is good. My class seems pretty fun, especially compared to the challenges of last year. I have three ERR kids (Extended Resource- with disabilities) that come and join us during parts of the day for socialization. They are really sweet and warm my heart. The biggest challenge is what is coming down the pipe from admin and above. The overflowing plate that we have is now table size and severely unrealistic. Oh well. You do your best, and move on. I wish that admin (district, state and so on) could spend a day/week doing what they are asking of us and seeing if it is actually remotely possible. Most of them have been out of the classroom for so long that they have no idea how much different the expectations and demands are today, even than they were 6 years ago when I started. crazy.
How long til retirement?
Libby is smiling now, this is the only one I've caught on camera. She officially has the Stockett cheeks.
We took the kids swimming at the Rec center last night. Good thing I tried this swim suit on her. First and last wear...And that's why you buy things used, folks. Some things never even get worn.

PTL! PTL! PTL! for a good week! I love all the pics! Seems in some she looks like Ian, and in others more like Luke. Miss you all!!!!
Way to go, Superdad!!!
I wish we lived in the same town. Why didn't we get together more when we did live in the same town? I just feel like you are speaking my language to a T...teaching, 3 kids, a great husband...thanks. I appreciate hearing how your weeks go.
So glad the first week went well. We still have one more week until we start, but the nerves are starting to kick in a tad :)...
I don't know how you do it!
Libby is a cutie pie. I love the cheekers on your kids. Sooo squishy cute.
oh she is such a beauty! The swimsuit pic made me laugh out loud. I can't wait to meet her.
Precious (the usual word). AND--you guys have the worst luck with dogs. Yikes!
Can't wait to meet the Libster. Does she like my lullabies?? :)
Wow! Libby's so much bigger already! What a beautiful girl she is. And Joy--you are amazing, juggling work and family the way you do.
God bless you Joy! If you had any spare minutes you could write a book on organization! Good to get an update on you and yours!
Wow...I agree! Thanks for posting your thoughts! It encouraged me to just keep going, do my best, it won't be perfect, and that's okay!! Great new pics!
