This week we've had VBS (Vacation Bible School) at church. I've taught the Bible "voyage" for several years now, and I really do enjoy it. But it is always a LONG week. Each year is a different theme. This year was Big Seas Expedition. The kids rotate to different stations, and each day is a different Bible story and theme for the day. My room has to transform with the Bible story. I wish I had gotten pictures of that. Everything came together in the end, but putting it together with a 1,4, and 5 year old in the room is a little challenging.
It's been a good week though. Teaching the same lesson 5 times in one day- is good preaching to the mirror. God is good. That's for sure.
This is the first week since I can remember that M-F, we haven't had any event throughout the week in the evenings. Every day we've been getting home at 12:30 or 1, and it's been so nice to not rush in the evenings. I'm realizing that we were WAY to busy. Especially now as Libby is getting older and needs to get to bed, and going places involves so much.
Since I'm at home with the kids, I haven't been able to go to the gym, so I've been busting out P90X during naptime. It's refreshing, to be sore afterwards, but it's challenging to get sweaty in the middle of the day. Naptime rolls around, and I think...."Okay, I have about 10 things on my list, and I have time to complete 2 of them. What comes first?"
Today I got about an hour of staining the playground set finished, before my 5 year old, promptly informed me it was 3:30 and his rest time was over. Well, at least he'll know how to tell time.....
Ahhhh....Summer is here and VBS is over, and other than many trips planned this year, I feel a big relief when I go to bed every night. My 4:30 wake-up time doesn't seem to change much, maybe to 5:00am, but there's less stress knowing, that my main job is to be a mom, instead of trying to be a mom, and a teacher all day long.
Garden is growing! My cilantro has been fabulous. I'll try to get some pics soon.

Joy! I was just thinking about you today. I was about to cut through your subdivision to avoid that mess on Greenhurst intersection. Anyway, thanks for the little update with your fam! And seriously, we should do at least one teeny little zoo visit before summer is over...right??:)
Yes, we should. We need to just nail down a date! What about in August? I have trips the next 3 weekends, but August slows down a little....
