A Day to Remember

We celebrated the fourth with family which we are blessed to have here. Jer's dad and step- mom live here in Nampa- so the boys spent the afternoon over there playing (and napping- thank God!) while Jer and I, plus his brother and wife, his dad and best friend- Scrub went floating down the river. It was SO nice to just sit back and relax. I just imagined that I was actually floating in a pool at an amazing resort. It felt just as nice - to have no kids yelling my name and no responsibilities. We had a great time and then we went back to have a BBQ at the grandparents' house. The boys did really great with the long evening. We had sparklers and they were the hit.

Yes- they are both in undies- and yes, Ian is in 2t by accident and Luke is in the 4T. But I think they pretty much have the same waist size right now. They had been in and out of the pool- so instead of putting more dry clothes on- we stuck with the tighty whities. Luke looks a bit panicked in this photo- but he was just studying them closely.

Ian was in heaven while we watched the neighbor's show. We went home about 9:30 only to be met by our neighbor's having a HUGE show, accompanied by a large crowd on their lawn. So we got out the rocking chairs from the front porch and rocked the boys while they ewwed and ahhed at every spark. I kept hearing Ian say, "Wow!" and Luke would say, "I like it!" in the highest pitch possible. Jer and I just looked at each other with a peaceful contentment and we spoke through our eyes, Life is good.

We topped the weekend off with enjoying dinner/dessert over at my uncle's house (who recently moved here). His kids were all in town and so I was able to see all my cousins. (1st time in 8 years for one of them). It was nice to be near family and have the boys enjoy them as well.

Well ladies- I have been hit with the scooter card as well. It would be a better financial move than driving the mini-van to work. He must have been reading some of your blogs to come up with it. I hadn't heard about until after Julie posted her blog. :)I'll keep you posted.
Gotta work on some Habitt concepts for Jer. It's really hard to find time to do that amongst daily busy life.

Wow, those undies made my day. Isn't it amazing how "life is good" moments come more often now that we are parents? We don't even have to seek them out. Your family is happy and blessed and your boys are lucky to have such adventurous parents. Can't wait to see you!!!
