Busy busy...

What a weekend! Thursday night, my parents came into town, while I was at student conferences. Then Friday I had appointments and errands until 3:30 in the afternoon and then tidied up a bit and left at 5:30 for McCall. We went on a retreat with our Sunday School Class. It was supposed to be mostly for R&R but I must have gone up with a bug or something because I felt pretty crummy all weekend. It definitely was not relaxing to me just because of how I felt. Otherwise it would have been great! (Although God needs to simmer down on the snow now- it's MARCH!) Then we drove in around 2ish on Sunday and I had to whip out a cake, decorations, and clean house again for Ian's birthday party at 5:00. My poor mother-in-law (who also came down for the weekend) was sicker than a dog and had been up all night puking. The dads (or grandpas) were working on an outdoor playground the entire weekend (which we'll have to finish- BIG project!) so they were in their own world with that.....It was just chaotic. :) But not in a bad way. The party went well. Lots of people for my house. I always feel bad - just because my home isn't real "open" so when there are lots of people- it tends to get jammed up in spots. :) Then Jer and I slept on the couches so our parents could take the beds- Luke must be sick because he was up through the night....Then I had planned to take off Monday to spend the day with Ian doing things that we can't normally do- because Luke isn't old enough- but thinks he should be able to do everything that Ian does.
I took Ian all the way out to the Boise mall and realized I had left my purse on the counter. Good times. Drove all the way back and back again. Ian was a good sport about that. He did pretty good with everything until the royal fit that he had to hold my hand when we crossed the street. Anyway- I think everyone is just exhausted from the weekend and the off schedule that takes place during such a time.
Tonight- my precious husband came up with the idea of busting out the old "Wiggles" DVDs that Ian used to adore (since "Luke is at that age and hasn't been able to enjoy them.." Jer thought) Okay- I thought- I'll go with the flow- although I tend to be done with the obnoxious DVDs. Let's just get the ones that are tolerable to us as well. But Jer rounds up the kids and puts on a Wiggles Dance Party and proceeds to keep up with all the choreography in each song, while the boys try to mimic it as well. It was so hilarious. It was just too much fun to resist! I had to join in. After about 30 minutes, everyone was sweating and Ian says "I want to play with my trains." Dad and I say, " There's just 2 more songs left, then we'll play with trains." It was a great work out, and laugh! I bet any neighbors watching would have had a great show! haha! I love my fam! But-tonight----- I will sleep, and get through another week.
